Dear all,

I hope you are doing well.

This just a quick note as I am assuming many of you are discussing on 
how to react on the latest news from Khan al Ahmar. Over the weekend 
Israel's security cabinet under international pressure has decided to 
freeze the demolition of Khan al Ahmar for 'several weeks'.

As Stop the Wall we have released a statement that you can see here 
(website *) and here (facebook) as we are worried that people and 
organizations may lower the attention and stop the pressure. This is 
exactly what the Israeli government hopes may happen in order to be 
able to destroy the community facing less of a backlash.

On the ground in Palestine, the tents of solidarity will continue and 
the struggle will continue and we hope this will happen as well at 
international level.

Now is the moment to escalate and strengthen the campaign to ensure we 
really save Khan al Ahmar and put a serious obstacle to Israel's 
declared policy that aims to displace the 46 Palestinian communities 
in the area.

The lesson we need to draw from the latest decision by the Israeli 
government is that "Yes we can!" IF we continue on the path of 
pressure as we have been doing so far. It's time to push more. I hope 
we can work together within this direction.
