VOICES OF DIVERSE, COUNTRY-BASED CAMPAIGNS
AVAILABLE IN CANCUN THROUGH THE
OUR WORLD IS NOT FOR SALE (OWINFS) NETWORK
The Our World is Not For Sale (OWINFS) network is a collection of
organizations, activists and social movements worldwide fighting the
current model of corporate globalization embodied in the World Trade
Organization (WTO). OWINFS is committed to a sustainable, socially just,
democratic and accountable multilateral trading system.
OWINFS grew out of the successful international campaigns against the
Multilateral Agreement on Investment (MAI) and the 3rd WTO Ministerial in
Seattle. Despite promises to improve the system made at the end of the
Seattle ministerial aimed at countering the WTO's crisis of legitimacy, no
improvements have taken place. "The time has come to acknowledge the crises
of the international trading system and its main administering institution,
the WTO," states the OWINFS "WTO: Shrink or Sink" statement
http://www.ourworldisnotforsale.org/global.asp.
"We need to replace this old, unfair and oppressive trade system with a
new, socially just and sustainable framework for the 21stCentury."...
